Wine-Winamp-Music

This isn’t anything more than me having some spare time to kill.
I think Winamp is an awesome music player. And no music player available on Linux comes even close to the simplicity it offers. XMMS had a bug that bugged me, and when I reported it on launchad, people suggested me to switch to Audacious. Audacious always refused to play music for me, for some strange reason. So I was forced to use Exaile for a while. But I never got used to it.
Just now, I installed Wine, downloaded the Winamp setup exe, installed it, and created a default Open-With entry for .mp3 files, pointing to - wine /home/mango/Winamp/winamp.exe.
It even shows a system tray icon.

Mpmath version 0.10 is now available. From the release announcement:

Additions in 0.10 include plotting support, matrices and linear algebra functions, new root-finding and quadrature algorithms, enhanced interval arithmetic, and some new special functions. Many speed improvements have been committed (a few functions are an order of magnitude faster than in 0.9), and as usual various bugs have been fixed. Importantly, this release fixes mpmath to work with Python 2.6.

I’ve moved

Finally I moved my earlier blog, here. I just added the feed to Planet-SoC Universe. Though I have deleted the content from the earlier site, entries might appear twice. I wanted to recreate my Planet-SoC account, so I can fix all the mess ups. But that didn’t (couldn’t) happen. Anyways, lets hope I stick on to this name.

My new digital camera

After a lot of searching, I finally bought a new digital camera, a Sony DSC T77. Its got a 10.1MP lens, has 4X optical zoom, along with features like face/smile detection, full HD, full touchscreen operation, and yet some other features which I don’t understand. Plus, it looks damn sleek. I got a 1GB memory card, and a carrying case, as a free gift! At Rs 16K, I think it was a great buy! First few pictures I clicked were of my sweet little iPod Touch.
I still haven’t tried mounting it on ArchLinux, ever since my 250GB WD USB hard disk refused to mount after a udev/hal/klibc upgrade.
Currently the battery is charging itself, so I’d try to mount it after sometime. I hope (pray) it does.
