Blog entries from Git Development Community SoC students and mentors

Accepted!

I got accepted by git for Google Summer of Code as you can see here. I’m very excited (as you can’t see by this post, but couldof seen if you were here ;)). This means I’ll be doing what I like most all summer (coding!) and on top of that, I have a mentor that will be helping out! Oh, and also those people from Google are paying me $4500 if I don’t drop out, so that’s very nice indeed!

Ho-hum!

The downside of being early with things, and getting in touch with the git maintainers/mentors is that by now I already had all my feedback. Because of that, right now, that is, during the “application period” (which was extended by 1 week to make things worse!), I’m not getting any comments on my application at all! Ah well, what I heard from the git people, “no news is good news”! So until 18 April (so far, far away!) I’ll have to be patient!

It has begun!

Lo and behold!
It has begun!
This year’s ‘Google Summer of Code’ is now open for student applications!
Don’t know what I’m talking about? Shame on you! Have a look at the official site.
I would really like to participate with git, so I’ve been busy brewing up a kick-ass application!
I’m taking my time though, no need to rush, I still have one week week to finish my application.
I think I’ll turn it in before Friday though, I wouldn’t want to be late!
