What feeds are available?
* All “planet” feed items: http://planet-soc.com/planet/feed
* All “universe” feed items: http://planet-soc.com/universe/feed
* All feed items associated with a mentoring organization:
* http://planet-soc.com/organization/Drupal/feed or
* http://planet-soc.com/organization/The+Apache+Software+Foundation/feed
What’s the difference between “planet” and “universe”?
“planet SoC” (http://planet-soc.com/planet) contains only SoC-related blog entries from SoC participants. This is the feed to follow if you’re interested in SoC-related happenings.
“universe SoC” (http://planet-soc.com/universe) contains ALL blog entries from SoC participants. This is the feed to follow if you want to know it all — both SoC-related stuff and personal things that students and mentors post about.
Are items from “Planet SoC” visible in “Universe SoC”?
they’re totally separate. When you create a feed you either say it’s a “Planet SoC” feed or a “Universe SoC” feed. And your feed items show up in whichever list.
Can i have more than one feed? One feed for Planet and one for Universe.
How often does planet-soc request my feed?
Feeds are requested every half hour.
Does planet-soc request my feed immediately after it was added?
No. I’m working on changing that cos it’s dumb. :P
Can i edit/delete items from my feed directly on the site?
Yes, this ability was recently added to the site. Click on the title of any feed item and there will be an “Edit” link, which you can use to either alter the content or remove the item.
Can i replace link “Add new comment” with my own?
Not currently. We discussed in IRC, and will install comment_mail module (to get emails when people comment on your feed items here), as well as trackback module (to ping here when someone comments on your blog entries over there).
