Well the time has come to publish my first weekly report. I wasn’t terribly sure on the level of detail and length that is expected but I still don’t officially have to publish this report anyways, so this will be a practice run. I think its sensible to not subject people spotting this article on Planet SOC not to see every last detail, so anyone interested, read on!
Monday: Spent about two hours chatting with Mithro about turn order, we radically changed the turn style from its original proposed form (one action per turn) to a new style. The new style of turn order is quite different from the original form. There are no longer any states of play, and players can make as many moves per turn as they desire. see wiki. Turns will be processed in this order: Reinforcements -> Friendly Movement -> Attack (unfriendly movement) -> Nop.
Tuesday: No blog entry, I realize today THIS record of events should have been started on Monday :P. I do recall refining my ideas and more or less steeping them in my mind. I cannot recall what else I accomplished and will make a point of recording day-to-day summaries earlier. More time spent trying to compile tpserver on OSX
Wednesday: Read initial chapters of BOOK NAME. Updated Wiki page to reflect changes made to gameplay. Created shell ruleset. At present the ruleset successfully “make”s but does not get through “make install”. I believe this is due to some strange syntax error resulting in a call to move librisk.so.0.0.0 having an extra space introduced in the path. More compiling fun.
Thursday: More attempts to get tpserver compiled, getting a ubuntu vm up and solid to compile via rsync instead of pushing small changes to the server. Read a few more chapters of BOOK NAME, specifically on , and other things I can’t say. In total I read ~100 pages
Friday: A lot of personal errands I needed to get out of the way. Administrative work (things like planning, drafting up a good calendar for myself, etc) More of reading BOOK NAME
For Next Week:
